Cheap Deals – Accommodation

When booking a recent holiday, I happened to find a site that I think is worth mentioning.  Booking.com

I’ve tried and booked with many other online accommodation sites before and they all have their failings. I happened by chance to end up at Booking.com, just by looking at certain areas that we wanted to visit. Apparently, it was started in Holland but has now been sold to an American company.

No money up front

What I liked about the site was you pay no money (not even a deposit) until you check in at the accommodation. You can also book anywhere up to 12 months in advance so that gives you a long time to save money for your holiday if you don’t have the ready cash at the time.

Good paperwork and website

I also particularly liked both the website and the paperwork Booking.com provide for you. The website is not spectacular as some try to be but it is easy to understand and easy to find things, unlike some I have come across in the past. The paperwork you can print out to take with you includes everything you need including a map, address, booking details etc. Booking.com also has an app available so you can have your booking on either your smart phone or tablet.

I am by no means an accommodation site expert but thought I would include this site as one I thought was worth mentioning. This is a general interest comment only on my behalf and I have no affiliation with Booking.com.

Over time I will add a few sites like this that I come across and think are worthy of a mention. I’m also happy if anyone wants to come up with other suggestions of sites that are worth adding here, be it accommodation, finance etc.
