Money and how to make $273,354 profit Update July 2015
Here is the July 2015 update from my original post . If you need to refresh your memory here is a link to the original article. Basically I chose 10 shares from Martin Roth’s Top Stocks book and held them (hypothetically) for a 14 year period. Now, each few months I will provide an update on the progress of the share portfolio.
These few months have seen a decrease in the value of the portfolio of $11,607 to $335,741.
The portfolio since 2000 has risen $247,348 which is still $26,006 less than when I started these articles in July 2014. As you can see though all but two of the stocks (Maxitrans and Amcor) are above 100% profit since 2000 and three are above or close to 400%.
The current total of $235,741 (total minus $100,000 originally invested) divided by 15 = $15,716 per year. So for the last 15 years you had $15,716 extra in your life (per year) just by deciding to buy shares and sit on them.
The next update will be later in 2015. We’ll see what happens then!
